  Brownsburg, IN — Hundreds of people lined up early Wednesday morning for the grand opening of the new Meijer, which officially opened its doors at 6 a.m. The atmosphere was energetic and exciting as shoppers packed the parking lot and entrance for the store’s first day of business. The first 200 customers received $50 gift cards as part of the grand opening celebration. Blue , the mascot for the Indianapolis Colts , also made an appearance during the event, taking photos with families and fans waiting in line. The new store, located at 9202 E 56th St, marks the newest addition to Brownsburg’s growing retail area and drew strong turnout from residents excited to explore the store.

Indianapolis, IN — Indianapolis Metro Police boxed in a juvenile hit and run suspect in the Bridgeport Commons neighborhood after a 911 caller reported the suspect threatened the caller’s daughter during the incident. The incident was reported around 8:16 p.m. The suspect also reportedly drove through several residential yards. The juvenile later resisted with officers and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance with a police escort. Avon Fire Department was also dispatched to the scene to check the integrity of a nearby residence after reports the vehicle may have struck the home. No additional information has been released at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.

  Indianapolis, IN — Crews from Plainfield Fire Territory , Avon Fire Department , and Wayne Township Fire Department were called to a residential fire on Southernwood Way just after 1 a.m. Initial reports indicate the fire may have been caused by a lightning strike during overnight storms. This marks the second lightning-related incident reported on the street this year, with a previous strike occurring on February 19 . No additional details on damage or injuries have been released at this time.

 Indianapolis, IN — A semi truck blocked the south exit of Avon Creek Estates on CR 100 S, just east of Raceway Road. The truck also brought down utility lines in the area. Crews were on scene working to restore service and clear the roadway. 

  Clayton, IN — At around 6:30 a.m. this morning, crews from the Plainfield Fire Department and Liberty Township Fire Department responded to County Road 0 and US 40 in Clayton for a reported crash with entrapment. Firefighters worked quickly and were able to free the victim in about 20 minutes. Officials say the individual was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. They were the only person injured in the crash.

 Avon, IN — Avon High School was placed on lockdown Friday afternoon after an anonymous threat of violence was reported, prompting a rapid response from law enforcement. Police arrived at the school and conducted a full sweep of the building while students and staff remained secured in classrooms. Authorities later determined the threat was not credible, and the lockdown was lifted. All students and staff were confirmed safe. Officials say the situation remains under investigation. A similar incident was also reported at Zionsville Community High School, where the school was placed on a temporary lockdown and later cleared without incident. School officials and first responders are being credited for acting quickly to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

  Plainfield, IN — Emergency crews responded to a late night fire involving an RV/trailer early this morning. At approximately 12:52 a.m., the Avon Fire Department, Plainfield Fire Department, and Wayne Township Fire Department were dispatched to a reported working building fire at 10555 County Road 251 S, just southeast of Ronald Reagan Parkway and US 40. Upon arrival, firefighters found an RV/trailer fully involved in flames. Crews acted quickly to contain the fire and were able to bring the situation under control in about 15 minutes. No injuries or additional damages have been reported at this time. The cause of the fire has not yet been released. Authorities have not provided further details, and the incident remains under investigation.

  Brownsburg, IN — A former Brownsburg daycare owner has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty in a case tied to a broader child abuse investigation. Nancy Minton, former owner of Main Street University for Kids in Brownsburg, was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to neglect of a dependent and failure to report. A judge imposed a three-year sentence, with two years to be served in prison and one year on probation. The charges stem from an investigation into incidents at the daycare that began last April. Authorities say the case is connected to a former employee, Gabriel Garner, who is facing 48 felony charges involving crimes against children. Garner has been held in the Hendricks County Jail since May 6, 2025, on a $600,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to go to trial on May 4.

  Avon, IN — A residence fire in the Cedar Mill neighborhood prompted a multi-agency response Tuesday evening on Cedar Mill Drive. The Avon Fire Department and Plainfield Fire Department were dispatched to the scene at approximately 8:25 p.m. Crews with the Avon and Plainfield fire departments arrived and worked to contain the blaze at the home, which sustained major damage. A neighbor posted on social media that all occupants made it out safely, with no injuries and all pets accounted for. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced family with immediate needs following the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

 Indianapolis, IN — Around 5:00 PM, FedEx containers were blown over the fence at Indianapolis International Airport and ended up on Perimeter Rd and I-70 during strong storms in the area. Most of the containers appeared to be off to the side of the road, but still created a hazardous situation for drivers in the area. It is unclear how many containers were involved.   Belleville, IN — Authorities have identified the bank robbery suspect killed in a shootout with police as Dustin Riley Horwoth , a man with a significant criminal history dating back to the mid 2000s. According to investigators, the incident in Belleville ended in an exchange of gunfire between Horwoth and law enforcement officers. Additional details about what led up to the confrontation have not yet been fully released, and the case remains under investigation. A review of Horwoth’s past reveals a major crime spree in 2005. In a past interview, Horwoth admitted to robbing between 17 and 20 auto parts stores across Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina over the course of roughly one month, taking tens of thousands of dollars.   Belleville, IN — An officer involved shooting involving Plainfield Police Department occurred just before 1 p.m. Wednesday along US 40 in Belleville, involving the suspect connected to Tuesday’s Chase Bank robbery in Plainfield . According to information from the scene, officers located the suspect in the Belleville area, leading to a pursuit. During that pursuit, a Plainfield Police officer was able to deploy a grappler device, successfully stopping the suspect’s fleeing PT Cruiser. The encounter that followed ended in gunfire. The suspect is deceased. A heavy police presence remained in the area following the shooting as investigators began processing the scene.   Plainfield, IN — A bank robbery is under investigation after it was reported Tuesday afternoon at the Chase Bank near Stafford Road and Quaker Boulevard. According to reported information, the incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. when a white male believed to be in his 50s approached a teller and handed over a note demanding cash. After receiving the money, the suspect left the bank on foot. No injuries have been reported. As a precaution, Brentwood Elementary and Clarks Creek Elementary were placed on lockdown during the incident. The lockdowns were later lifted after police determined there was no immediate threat.   Brownsburg, IN — A late night police pursuit in Brownsburg ended with a crash and brief standoff before a suspect was taken into custody without violence. Jesus Rangel-Campos led Brownsburg Police on a high speed chase around 10:30 PM after failing to pull over. The pursuit came to an end near the Auburn Ridge neighborhood in the area of Tilden Drive and County Road 575 East when the suspect crashed his vehicle into a field. Following the crash, Campos remained inside the vehicle and refused to exit, leading to a short standoff. Viewer video from the scene shows officers giving commands over a loudspeaker while holding the suspect at gunpoint. Campos was eventually taken into custody without further incident. He is now facing multiple charges, including felony resisting, reckless driving, and operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license, along with additional traffic related offenses.   Avon, IN — A simple act of kindness is warming hearts across Hendricks County after a local resident captured a memorable rescue involving some very small victims. Meloni Paino shared photos from yesterday afternoon showing firefighters from Engine 142 with the Avon Fire Department rescuing a group of baby ducks trapped inside a storm drain. Firefighters carefully worked together to lift each duckling out of the drain. Once safely out, the ducklings were reunited with their nearby mother.   Danville, IN — A Hendricks County Sheriff’s Deputy was involved in a serious crash Thursday morning at the intersection of US-36 and County Road 300 East. According to initial reports, the deputy’s vehicle collided with a pickup truck around 11:30 a.m. Multiple units from Danville Police and Fire responded to the scene. Indianapolis, IN — Multiple Avon Fire Department medics responded to a serious vehicle crash at the intersection of Rockville Road and Bridgeport Road just after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. Initial reports indicate IMPD arrived first to check for possible injuries. As more information came in, multiple Avon Fire Department medics were dispatched to the scene. Emergency responders arrived to find a major accident with multiple individuals hurt. Witnesses at the scene reported that as many as five vehicles were involved in the crash. Police continued working to assess injuries and secure the area. The extent of injuries has not yet been officially confirmed.

Brownsburg, IN — An RV fire on the I-74 ramp at Green Street drew emergency response Sunday afternoon, with the incident occurring around 4:50 p.m. Viewer video shows the scene following the fire. Witnesses at the scene reported that everyone inside the vehicle was able to exit safely before the fire intensified. No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.   Danville, IN — A suspect taken into custody after a police incident in a residential neighborhood is now facing multiple charges after initially refusing to comply with officers. Danville Police were dispatched to a residence in the Penrose neighborhood around 1:30 p.m. following reports of a Black male, approximately 20–30 years old, waving a firearm in a backyard. Officers arrived quickly and set up a perimeter, giving commands to the suspect at gunpoint while securing the area. The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department assisted with traffic control as the situation unfolded. The suspect eventually surrendered and was taken into custody. The suspect has been identified as Goodness Oduwale . He has been charged with felony criminal recklessness and resisting law enforcement. The weapon involved was later determined to be a pellet revolver rather than a traditional firearm. Oduwale is currently being held without bail at the Hendricks County Jail .

  Danville, IN — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 16-year-old last seen early Saturday morning. Kaiden Parker Rozens was last seen around 12:30 a.m. on April 11, 2026, in the 190 block of West Broadway Street in Danville. He is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and approximately 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a gray Puma hoodie black jeans with neon patches and white Nike Air Force shoes. Danville, IN — Danville Police were dispatched around 11 a.m. this morning to Edwards Equipment Co, 1375 E Main St, for a report of a fight in progress involving multiple individuals. Upon arrival, officers located an employee suffering from serious head injuries. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Gregory Bembenek was identified by police as the primary suspect in the incident. He was taken into custody and booked into the Hendricks County Jail on two felony charges. He is being held without bail. 

  Brownsburg, IN — Two viewer-submitted videos show the aftermath of a police chase that began in Brownsburg and ended in Pittsboro after the suspect vehicle was disabled with spike strips. Around 9:00pm Wednesday evening, a female suspect fled from Brownsburg officers for an unknown reason in a Chevy Malibu. The suspect traveled southbound on Green Street before heading westbound on US-136. Speeds during the pursuit remained relatively low, around 45 mph. Officers in Pittsboro positioned ahead of the suspect successfully deployed spike strips, which the vehicle struck. The suspect then continued northbound on North County Road 475 East before crashing near the entrance of the Jefferson Park neighborhood. The suspect was taken into custody at gunpoint. Authorities have not released additional details at this time, including the reason for the initial pursuit or whether any injuries were reported.

Avon, IN — A police chase came to an end Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. near the Costco gas station along U.S. 36. During the pursuit, the driver and two other occupants bailed out of the vehicle and fled on foot. The driver ran across U.S. 36 before being taken into custody by officers near Andy Mohr Toyota. The two additional occupants were apprehended shortly after at the Costco gas station. Multiple viewers reported that at one point during the chase, the vehicle was traveling the wrong way on U.S. 36. No injuries have been reported at this time, and further details have not yet been released.

  Indianapolis, IN — Emergency crews responded to a reported fire at a lead recycling facility on Morris Street late Monday evening, with multiple agencies working the scene and several individuals transported to local hospitals. The incident was reported at approximately 9:20 p.m. at the Ecobat recycling plant.
