Brownsburg Chase Ends in Crash and Standoff, Suspect Taken Into Custody
Brownsburg, IN — A late night police pursuit in Brownsburg ended with a crash and brief standoff before a suspect was taken into custody without violence.
Jesus Rangel-Campos led Brownsburg Police on a high speed chase around 10:30 PM after failing to pull over. The pursuit came to an end near the Auburn Ridge neighborhood in the area of Tilden Drive and County Road 575 East when the suspect crashed his vehicle into a field.
Following the crash, Campos remained inside the vehicle and refused to exit, leading to a short standoff. Viewer video from the scene shows officers giving commands over a loudspeaker while holding the suspect at gunpoint.
Campos was eventually taken into custody without further incident.
He is now facing multiple charges, including felony resisting, reckless driving, and operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license, along with additional traffic related offenses. He is currently being held at the Hendricks County Jail without bail.
No injuries have been reported in connection to the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
