Chase Bank Robbery in Plainfield Prompts Lockdown at Two Nearby Elementary Schools
Plainfield, IN — A bank robbery is under investigation after it was reported Tuesday afternoon at the Chase Bank near Stafford Road and Quaker Boulevard.
According to reported information, the incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. when a white male believed to be in his 50s approached a teller and handed over a note demanding cash. After receiving the money, the suspect left the bank on foot. No injuries have been reported.
As a precaution, Brentwood Elementary and Clarks Creek Elementary were placed on lockdown during the incident. The lockdowns were later lifted after police determined there was no immediate threat. The school district also sent an email to parents notifying them of the police presence and the temporary lockdown.
Officers searched the surrounding area, but no suspect has been taken into custody at this time.
Plainfield Police were contacted for comment. They said they could not provide additional details due to the ongoing investigation but confirmed there is no danger to the public.
