Pursuit Ends in Pittsboro After Spike Strips Disable Suspect Vehicle
Brownsburg, IN — Two viewer-submitted videos show the aftermath of a police chase that began in Brownsburg and ended in Pittsboro after the suspect vehicle was disabled with spike strips.
Around 9:00pm Wednesday evening, a female suspect fled from Brownsburg officers for an unknown reason in a Chevy Malibu. The suspect traveled southbound on Green Street before heading westbound on US-136. Speeds during the pursuit remained relatively low, around 45 mph.
Officers in Pittsboro positioned ahead of the suspect successfully deployed spike strips, which the vehicle struck. The suspect then continued northbound on North County Road 475 East before crashing near the entrance of the Jefferson Park neighborhood.
The suspect was taken into custody at gunpoint. Authorities have not released additional details at this time, including the reason for the initial pursuit or whether any injuries were reported.
