Man Charged After Gun Incident in Danville’s Penrose Neighborhood
Danville, IN — A suspect taken into custody after a police incident in a residential neighborhood is now facing multiple charges after initially refusing to comply with officers.
Danville Police were dispatched to a residence in the Penrose neighborhood around 1:30 p.m. following reports of a Black male, approximately 20–30 years old, waving a firearm in a backyard. Officers arrived quickly and set up a perimeter, giving commands to the suspect at gunpoint while securing the area.
The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department assisted with traffic control as the situation unfolded. The suspect eventually surrendered and was taken into custody.
The suspect has been identified as Goodness Oduwale. He has been charged with felony criminal recklessness and resisting law enforcement.
The weapon involved was later determined to be a pellet revolver rather than a traditional firearm. Oduwale is currently being held without bail at the Hendricks County Jail.
