According to observations at the scene, a vehicle traveling southbound on Raceway Road may have struck a vehicle waiting in the left-turn lane for US-36. The vehicle then appeared to continue eastbound on US-36 in the wrong direction for approximately 500 feet before leaving the roadway and striking a parked vehicle and a semi truck in the Five Guys/AT&T parking lot. These details are based on scene observations and have not been confirmed by authorities. Two medic units were dispatched. Information regarding injuries has not been released.

Roundabout Construction Closes Raceway Rd & 10th St in Avon Until July 26

Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities confirmed that family notifications have been completed. According to investigators, Hosseini first contacted the victim through the social media platform Discord, where he developed a relationship with her over time. Authorities say he later traveled from Canada to Indiana and falsely identified himself to the girl’s family before carrying out the abuse in Avon. Detectives gathered extensive evidence during the investigation, including digital communications, materials recovered from a hotel room, and statements confirming multiple incidents. The case was investigated by the Avon Police Department, Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department, and the Boone County Sheriff’s Office. Danville Police Merit Board Vice President Arrested After Crash

Danville, IN — A Danville Police Department Merit Board official has been arrested following a Friday afternoon crash in town. Authorities say the crash occurred around 5:18 p.m. near East Main Street and Stratford Avenue and involved two vehicles. The incident was first reported on our scanner page, Hendricks County Scanner Alerts , around 6:00 p.m., prompting attention to the scene. Due to the involvement of a member of the Danville Police Department’s Merit Board, the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department conducted the investigation. Dennis Wynn, 55, who serves as vice president of the Merit Board, was taken into custody and booked into the Hendricks County Jail. He is facing preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, as well as operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of .15 or higher. The case remains under investigation, and all charges are preliminary at this time.

Early Morning Fire Reported at Emmy’s Pancake House in Avon

 Avon, IN — Fire crews from multiple departments responded early Wednesday morning to a reported building fire at Emmy’s Pancake House. The call came in at approximately 1:11 a.m., prompting a response from Avon, Wayne Township, and Plainfield fire departments after reports of smoke coming from the roof of the strip mall. Upon arrival, crews found that the building’s sprinkler system had already activated, helping to suppress the fire. The suspect vehicle was last seen heading eastbound on Interstate 74. Employees were able to capture photos of the suspect during the incident, which may assist investigators.  Lizton, IN — Several accidents were reported earlier today along State Route 39 between Lizton and New Brunswick as winter weather created dangerous driving conditions. Snow combined with strong winds led to near whiteout conditions in the area, with visibility dropping to almost zero at times. The rapidly changing conditions contributed to multiple crashes along the stretch of highway. Authorities confirmed at least two separate incidents involving semi trucks. Cooktop Fire at Plainfield Hotel Prompts Evacuation, One Transported

Swarn Park recently welcomed visitors with the installation of several sculptures created by Indianapolis artist and former Major League Baseball player Micah Johnson . The sculptures feature Johnson’s well-known character Aku, which represents imagination, perseverance, and dreaming big. The centerpiece of the installation is a large Aku sculpture that rises roughly 25 feet into the air. Several additional Aku statues, each between about 6 and 9 feet tall, are placed throughout the park so visitors can encounter them as they explore the space. The new restaurant welcomed its first visitors during its grand opening Monday. Guests stopping in during the afternoon were able to take a look inside the new space, which features a clean, spacious layout and a welcoming atmosphere. Staff members greeted visitors as they stopped in to check out the new location. Several community members could be seen walking through the restaurant and getting their first look at the newest addition to Avon’s dining scene. Ale Emporium is well known around central Indiana for its casual sports bar environment and menu items including wings and pizza. US-40 Closed After Three-Vehicle Crash With Multiple Injuries in Plainfield

  Plainfield, In  — A three-vehicle crash at the intersection of US-40 and William Trace injured at least five people and shut down the highway in both directions Sunday afternoon. The crash happened just after 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the busy Plainfield intersection. Multiple emergency crews from Plainfield and Avon Fire Departments responded to the scene and evaluated several victims for injuries. Multiple people were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment. Additional ambulances had to be dispatched from Avon.  US-40 was shut down in both directions while crews worked to assist the injured and clear the damaged vehicles from the roadway.

The incident was reported around 5:30 p.m. Deputies responded to the area and began an investigation. According to Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office Captain Jim Yetter , deputies are currently on the scene looking into the report. “We are on the scene of a shots fired investigation. Police Searching for Missing Runaway Juvenile

  Plainfield, In. — Police in Plainfield are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing runaway juvenile. According to the Plainfield Police Department, 17-year-old Penelope McGowan was last seen leaving school with her older sister. Investigators say the sister later told officers she dropped Penelope off in the neighborhood where she lives with her father. Authorities said the last known GPS location from Penelope’s phone showed her traveling southbound on Moon Road just south of U.S. 40 before the phone was believed to have been turned off. Penelope was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue pants, and a black jacket with fur on the hood. She was also carrying a backpack. She is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing about 130 pounds, with red hair and hazel eyes. BROWNSBURG, IN — A warehouse at 10255 Archer Dr caught fire again Sunday night around 11:00 PM, marking the second fire at this same facility since December 17th. Flames and smoke were visible from the street as emergency crews worked to get the situation under control.
