 A robbery was reported earlier today in the area of US-36 & Bridgeport Rd. The homeowner tracked the suspect to the Jaggers store on US-36 & Raceway Rd, where the suspect was found inside. IMPD officers responded promptly and arrested the suspect without incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing

 A statewide Silver Alert has been issued as authorities work to locate 15-year-old Anyia Hoopingarner , who has been reported missing from Avon, Indiana. Anyia is described as 4'10" , approximately 110 pounds , with blonde/red hair and brown eyes . She was last seen in Avon early Monday morning, November 17 around 1:30 a.m. , wearing a white shirt and grey sweatpants . Officials say Anyia is believed to be in extreme danger . If you have any information about her location, call 911 immediately .

The video shows smoke and flames coming from a parked vehicle as bystanders kept a safe distance. Plainfield Fire Territory  responded promptly to the scene and was able to extinguish the fire shortly after arrival. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire has not yet been released. This incident serves as a reminder to stay aware of your surroundings and report emergencies quickly. Thanks to the fast action of local firefighters, the situation was brought under control.

 Earlier today around 10:30 AM , a box truck collided with the CSX rail bridge on Bridgeport Rd , prompting a temporary closure in both directions. Emergency crews quickly responded to the scene to assess the situation and ensure safety. The incident caused brief traffic delays, but Bridgeport Rd has since reopened , and normal traffic flow has resumed. No injuries were reported. CSX crews are inspecting the bridge for any structural damage to ensure it is safe for ongoing rail and road use. Authorities are also reviewing the circumstances of the accident.

 An urban search effort in Avon wrapped up quickly Tuesday evening after first responders located a missing male safely. According to officials, Avon Fire and Avon Police launched the search around 7:15 PM in the area of US-36 and Gable Drive after receiving a report of a missing male subject, whose age was not immediately available. Emergency crews coordinated a focused search of the surrounding area, and within roughly 15 minutes, responders were able to locate the individual safely at approximately 7:30 PM . The quick resolution highlights the strong teamwork between Avon’s fire and police departments, as well as their rapid response to incidents involving community safety.

  PLAINFIELD, Ind. — A traffic stop on Interstate 70 turned into a major drug bust this week after Plainfield Police officers noticed suspicious behavior from a driver. According to the department, K9 Echo was brought in to assist and quickly alerted to the presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 216 pounds of vacuum-sealed marijuana . Police credited their night shift team and K9 Echo for their quick actions, which led to stopping suspected drug traffickers moving through the area. Hendricks County – A Project Lifesaver alert was activated earlier today in the area of County Road 100 South and Raceway Road after reports of a missing individual believed to be part of the program. Responding quickly, Avon Police Department , Plainfield Police Department , and crews from both Avon Fire Department and Plainfield Fire Territory worked together to locate the individual safely. Thanks to the specialized Project Lifesaver tracking equipment and the coordinated response from local agencies, the search ended successfully in a short amount of time. Project Lifesaver is a public safety program that assists in locating individuals who may wander due to cognitive conditions such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, or autism. Participants wear a small transmitter bracelet that emits a unique tracking signal, allowing trained responders to find them quickly when needed.   Avon, Ind. — Voters have approved the renewal of Avon Community School Corporation’s operating referendum, ensuring continued funding for teachers, classroom support, and school safety. According to unofficial results from the Hendricks County Clerk’s Office, about 65% of voters (4,995 in favor, 2,740 opposed) supported the renewal measure. The referendum extends the district’s operating levy at a lower rate of 33 cents per $100 of assessed value , down from the 2018 rate.
