Plainfield Police Seize 216 Pounds of Marijuana on I-70

 PLAINFIELD, Ind. — A traffic stop on Interstate 70 turned into a major drug bust this week after Plainfield Police officers noticed suspicious behavior from a driver.

According to the department, K9 Echo was brought in to assist and quickly alerted to the presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 216 pounds of vacuum-sealed marijuana.

Police credited their night shift team and K9 Echo for their quick actions, which led to stopping suspected drug traffickers moving through the area.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity is urged to contact the Hendricks County Communications Center at (317) 839-8700, or call 911 in an emergency.

Local Pizzerias Offering Free Meals as SNAP Cuts Approach

  As the upcoming SNAP benefit reductions draw near, two Hendricks County pizzerias are stepping up to help local families in need. Pizza King in Plainfield , located at 2368 E Main Street , announced it will be offering free 14-inch cheese or one-topping pizzas , along with breadsticks and a family salad , to anyone who presents a valid SNAP card with ID. The offer will be available every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. In Brownsburg, Rockstar Pizza , located at 922 E Main Street , is also joining the effort.
