Project Lifesaver Activation Leads to Successful Search Near 100 S & Raceway Rd
Hendricks County – A Project Lifesaver alert was activated earlier today in the area of County Road 100 South and Raceway Road after reports of a missing individual believed to be part of the program.
Responding quickly, Avon Police Department, Plainfield Police Department, and crews from both Avon Fire Department and Plainfield Fire Territory worked together to locate the individual safely. Thanks to the specialized Project Lifesaver tracking equipment and the coordinated response from local agencies, the search ended successfully in a short amount of time.
Project Lifesaver is a public safety program that assists in locating individuals who may wander due to cognitive conditions such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, or autism. Participants wear a small transmitter bracelet that emits a unique tracking signal, allowing trained responders to find them quickly when needed.
Today’s outcome is another reminder of how valuable this program is in keeping vulnerable community members safe, and how strong interagency teamwork plays a key role in public safety success stories like this one.
