Cascade High School Coach Sentenced for Child Seduction

A former wrestling coach and substitute teacher, Quinton Lee Harris, has been sentenced for engaging in an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student while working at Cascade High School in Clayton, Indiana in 2022.

Harris, 29, was arrested on Aug. 12, 2024, at a home in Plainfield, and has now received a sentence of 3 years of home detention followed by 3 years of probation. He must also register as a sex offender for 10 years and is no longer permitted to work as a coach.

According to investigators, Harris admitted to exchanging sexual messages and meeting with the student multiple times while knowing she was underage. The misconduct came to light after the student reported the incidents to authorities.

After leaving Cascade, Harris later worked as a wrestling coach at Ben Davis High School, up until his arrest in 2024.

Prosecutors had requested a harsher sentence, including jail time, citing aggravating factors. The court ultimately imposed home detention and probation. Hendricks County officials emphasized that holding Harris accountable was possible thanks to the courage of the victim who came forward.
