Fire Crews Respond to Glasswater Creek Assisted Living Facility in Plainfield
Plainfield, IN – Fire departments from Plainfield and Avon responded to the Glasswater Creek Assisted Living Facility this evening at around 6:15pm after reports of a possible fire inside the building.
According to witnesses, firefighters arrived quickly and immediately began checking the building to ensure all residents and staff were safe. The facility was temporarily evacuated as a precaution while crews investigated the source of the report.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and firefighters were able to contain the situation without further incident. Crews remained on scene for some time to ventilate the building and confirm that it was safe for residents to return.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
Both departments were praised for their swift and professional response, which helped prevent a potentially dangerous situation from escalating.
Update: The investigation has concluded, it turned out to be food burning in one of the units on the second floor causing the smoke.
