  Avon, IN — A vehicle accident reported just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, sent a vehicle off the roadway and into the Fazoli’s sign just west of US-36 and Dan Jones Road in Avon. The crash caused a temporary shutdown of US-36 eastbound as emergency crews responded to the scene. Westbound traffic was also reduced to one lane, causing traffic delays in the area. Several medics were dispatched to the scene. It is currently unclear how many people were injured or the extent of any injuries.

Panic Erupts at Decatur Central vs. Avon Football Game as Police Respond to Possible Weapon Report

Indianapolis, IN — Panic erupted among spectators near the end of the Decatur Central High School vs. Avon High School football game Friday night as a large law enforcement presence responded to the stadium following reports of a possible weapon. Initial reports indicated that someone may have had a firearm, prompting a significant police response at the game. MSD Decatur Township later clarified that no weapon was found and no shots were fired. According to the school district, the incident involved an isolated medical emergency involving a spectator. Reports of a possible weapon circulated during the response, but police responded immediately to the situation. No injuries beyond the isolated medical emergency have been reported. Road Rage Shooting Under Investigation in Avon

  Avon, IN — Avon Police are investigating a road rage shooting that occurred this evening in the area of Ronald Reagan Parkway and County Road 100 South. According to Avon Police Public Information Officer Steven Barton, the occupant of one vehicle discharged a firearm at another involved vehicle during the incident. The initial call came in around 7:30 p.m. A caller reported being shot at by someone driving a black Toyota Camry with no license plates. The vehicle was reported fleeing toward US 40. Plainfield Police later located and stopped the suspect vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody. Avon detectives and officers are continuing to investigate the incident. No additional information about the circumstances leading up to the shooting has been released at this time.

Danville Man Arrested After More Than a Dozen Dogs Escape Home, Police Discover Severe Conditions

Danville, IN — A Danville man was arrested Tuesday after police responded to reports of 10 to 12 dogs running loose in the area of N. Cross St. and W. Columbia St., eventually discovering severe conditions inside the residence where the animals were being kept. The updated information was provided by Nate Lien, Detective Sergeant with the Danville Police Department. Dogs Escape From Home Police said officers were dispatched around 3:08 p.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of numerous dogs running loose in the roadway. Upon arrival, officers found multiple dogs throughout the area. Neighbors told police the dogs belonged to a residence at 213 N. Cross St. and believed additional dogs were still inside. Officers discovered a large hole on the south side of the home that appeared to be an exit point for the animals. Motorcyclist Tased After Short Police Pursuit Ends in Brownsburg

  BROWNSBURG, IN — A motorcyclist was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after leading Brownsburg Police on a short pursuit through a neighborhood before crashing and attempting to flee on foot. The incident began just before 1:30 p.m. when the rider fled from officers, leading police on a brief chase through a residential area. The pursuit came to an end near the intersection of N. Grant St. and E. 56th St. , where the motorcyclist crashed. Following the crash, the suspect attempted to escape on foot but was quickly apprehended after officers deployed a Taser. The individual was then taken into custody without further incident. The Brownsburg Fire Department responded to the scene to evaluate the suspect for injuries following the crash and arrest.

  AVON, IN — An Avon Police pursuit that began around 6:30 p.m. Sunday in Avon ended in Indianapolis after the suspect crashed near 10th Street and Belmont Avenue. The pursuit began near the intersection of Glenbrooke Lane and U.S. 36 after an Avon Police officer attempted to stop a white Dodge Charger for speeding. Instead of stopping, the driver fled, leading officers into Marion County. During the pursuit, the suspect reached speeds of up to 95 mph before the chase came to an end with a crash near 10th Street and Belmont Avenue in Indianapolis. The suspect was taken into custody following the crash and transported to Eskenazi Hospital. The initial reason for the traffic stop was reported to be speeding. Pizza King Fire Quickly Brought Under Control by Avon Fire Department

Vehicle Catches Fire Following Crash on US-40 East of Belleville

  BELLEVILLE, IN — Multiple fire departments responded Friday afternoon after a crash involving injuries left a vehicle engulfed in flames on U.S. 40 just east of Belleville. The crash occurred around 4:35 p.m. near Ray's Recycling , prompting a response from Liberty Township, Avon, Stilesville, and Plainfield fire departments. Photos from the scene showed one of the vehicles heavily involved in fire, sending a large column of black smoke into the air as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze. Indianapolis: 2 IMPD Officers Shot, Suspect Deceased

  Indianapolis, IN — Two Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were shot Wednesday night while responding to a disturbance on the city's east side. The suspected gunman was also shot during the incident and later died from his injuries. According to IMPD, officers were dispatched around 10:25 p.m. to the 8000 block of East 37th Street for a reported disturbance. After arriving, officers encountered a man and a woman. During that encounter, the male suspect allegedly opened fire, striking two officers. An officer returned fire, hitting the suspect. The crash happened just after 9:30 p.m. on Country Club Rd between 10th St and US 36. The roadway was shut down in both directions for several hours as first responders worked at the scene. Multiple occupants were trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated before they could be transported for medical treatment. Emergency Response Staged at Runway A Delta Boeing 737 900(ER) departed from Chicago and was inbound to Atlanta when it diverted and made an emergency landing in Indianapolis. As the aircraft approached the airport, emergency personnel were placed on high alert.   AVON, Ind. — Emergency crews were dispatched at 8:20 p.m. this evening to a single-vehicle accident on E County Road 100 S, just west of Avon Avenue. The vehicle involved in the crash struck a fire hydrant, resulting in a significant water main break. What began as flooding in several yards escalated into a widespread issue, with water continuing to flow from the damaged hydrant for a little over two hours before it was finally shut off by the water company.  The impact has extended across the neighborhood, with many houses suffering from flooded yards along E County Road 100 S.
