Suspect Identified in Plainfield Christmas Day Pursuit

 Authorities have identified the driver involved in a high‑speed pursuit that reached more than 110 mph on Christmas Day, according to the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies say the chase began when they attempted to stop a stolen Kia near 267 and Stafford Road in Plainfield. The driver refused to pull over and accelerated away, crashing into the back of another vehicle. The impact left the other driver in critical condition. The pursuit continued north into Avon, ultimately ending near E. Main Street and Carr Road. Investigators say the suspect ran from the wrecked vehicle but surrendered shortly afterward. He initially refused to provide his name, but deputies later identified him as 18‑year‑old Eniakin Odutayo. Charges Filed Against Suspect in Avon Standoff

Authorities have filed four felony charges against 18‑year‑old Marquis Devon Virgil following the standoff that occurred Monday on Bridgewater Drive in Avon. The incident prompted a large law‑enforcement response after Virgil reportedly claimed he was armed and later fired multiple shots from inside the residence. According to investigators, several rounds struck an armored vehicle positioned outside the home, as well as nearby houses. No injuries were reported. A female inside the residence was able to exit safely while negotiators worked to stabilize the situation. After several hours, Virgil attempted to flee the home and was taken into custody by deputies on scene. Virgil is now charged with the following offenses: • Attempted Murder (Level 1 Felony) • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon (Level 4 Felony) • Criminal Recklessness (Level 5 Felony) • Resisting Law Enforcement (Level 6 Felony)

Deputies were called to the home after an 18‑year‑old suspect claimed he was armed and later fired shots from inside the residence. Rounds struck an armored vehicle and nearby houses. No injuries were reported, and a female inside the home was able to get out safely. Multiple agencies assisted as negotiators worked for several hours to resolve the situation. The suspect attempted to run from the home and was taken into custody. Charges remain pending. The video below was submitted by a resident who was in the area at the time.

Avon Standoff Ends Peacefully After Suspect Opens Fire on Deputies

 AVON, Ind. — A multi‑agency law enforcement response unfolded Monday afternoon after Hendricks County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a residence in the 1900 block of Bridgewater Drive for a reported mental health crisis involving an armed individual. Deputies were dispatched around 1:15 PM after the suspect, identified as 18‑year‑old Marquis Virgil, allegedly told dispatchers he was armed and wanted officers to come to his home so he could shoot them. He also claimed a female was inside the residence. Investigators later confirmed Virgil had an active warrant out of Florida for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon on law enforcement. Upon arrival, deputies staged at a safe distance while a negotiator made phone contact with the suspect. The female inside the home was able to exit safely and was moved to a secure location. First responders were called to the scene after reports that a crash resulted in at least one vehicle catching fire. Fire crews quickly worked to extinguish the flames and secure the scene, while law enforcement assisted with traffic control and began investigating the incident. Traffic along US-36 was impacted as emergency crews operated on scene. Drivers experienced delays and were advised to use caution while traveling through the area. Pedestrian Fatally Stuck on 100S in Avon

AVON 9:20pm - County Road 100S was closed in both directions between Raceway Road and Ronald Reagan Parkway after a reported pedestrian was struck . Emergency responders shut down the roadway while they handled the incident and conducted their investigation. Traffic was diverted away from the area during the response. At the time of publication, officials had not released information regarding the condition of the pedestrian or how long the road remained closed. Additional details are expected to be provided by authorities. UPDATE: 11:48pm  We have learned from information the Plainfield Police Department released that person struck passed away from their injuries.

Avon Fire Department crews are currently on scene, securing the area and addressing the situation. Authorities are asking people in the immediate vicinity to avoid the area and follow any directions given by emergency personnel. No injuries have been reported at this time, and crews are working to resolve the leak as quickly and safely as possible. Working Fire at Kinnley Court Apartments in Plainfield

 Plainfield Fire Department crews responded to a reported working fire at the Kinnley Court apartment complex on Clarks Creek Road in Plainfield. According to information from the scene, the fire involved multiple garage units within the complex. Firefighters arrived quickly and worked to bring the fire under control, preventing further spread to nearby garages and residential buildings. Several fire units were dispatched as crews conducted fire suppression operations and checked surrounding areas for extension. US-36 Closed in Both Directions After Semi Truck Pulls Down Power Line

 All lanes of US-36 are completely blocked at Huron Drive in front of Rural King after a semi truck pulled down a power line across Rockville Road. According to initial reports, the power line was hanging approximately 10 feet above the highway when Avon Fire crews first arrived on scene. At some point after crews arrived, a semi truck drove through the area and struck the line, dragging it down and onto a responding fire engine. Traffic is stopped in both directions as emergency responders and utility crews work to secure the scene and make the area safe. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the roadway can be reopened.

Residence Fire Reported in Brownsburg

According to initial information from officials on scene, the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Plainfield Man Charged in Deadly June 2024 Crash

A Plainfield man is now facing multiple criminal charges in connection with a fatal high-speed crash that occurred in June 2024. Prosecutors have filed charges against Inderdeep Singh, accusing him of driving nearly triple the speed limit before colliding with another vehicle. According to investigators, Singh was driving a Dodge Challenger at approximately 93 miles per hour in a 35 mile-per-hour zone. The crash happened on June 15, 2024, near the intersection of County Road 600 South and County Road 725 East in Plainfield, where Singh’s vehicle struck a car that was attempting a U-turn. The collision resulted in the death of Pamela Parker, and four other people were injured. Court documents also show that Singh has a prior arrest. In August of 2023, he was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person and later sentenced to one year of probation. Westbound US-36 was completely closed while firefighters and emergency personnel worked to safely free the individual. Traffic in the area was heavily impacted, and drivers were advised to seek alternate routes until the scene was cleared. Emergency responders worked quickly and efficiently, demonstrating the critical importance of professional training and teamwork during high-risk incidents. Plainfield Man Arrested on Multiple Child Exploitation Felonies

 A 55-year-old Plainfield man, Jason Alan Keep , was booked into the Hendricks County Jail today following an investigation into multiple child exploitation offenses. Keep is facing six felony charges, including three Level 4 felonies with aggravating factors and three Level 5 felonies. Authorities say the investigation began after a cyber tip was reported to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, leading investigators to examine Keep’s online activity involving minors.  According to officials, Keep allegedly communicated with underage individuals through social media apps and paid juveniles for explicit photos and videos, including at least one teen believed to be 15. Some of the recovered messages suggest Keep attempted to solicit sexual video chats, and one minor was reportedly referred to as a “sugar baby.” Court documents also indicate that Keep admitted to sexual contact with a minor.  The case remains active as Hendricks County investigators continue to r...

Hit-and-Run Crash Under Investigation at Rockville Rd & High School Rd

 A hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Rockville Rd and Highschool Rd is currently under investigation after a Prius reportedly ran a red light and struck two other vehicles before fleeing the scene. According to witness accounts, the Prius continued northbound on High School Rd with heavy front-end damage. IMPD officers are working to identify the driver and locate the vehicle involved. No confirmation has been provided yet regarding whether the suspect vehicle has been found. Emergency crews responded to assist the injured, and one occupant from a victim vehicle was transported to the hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been released. Photos from the scene show the significant impact caused by the collision and the ongoing response by first responders. This occurred at around 5:45am on Monday morning.
