Hit-and-Run Suspect Taken Into Custody After Vehicle Tracked to Avon Kroger Parking Lot

 Avon, IN — A suspect was taken into custody following a hit-and-run crash reported just after noon Wednesday at the intersection of US-36 and South County Road 300 East.

According to authorities, Danville Police were dispatched to the area for a reported hit-and-run accident. While officers were en route, the reporting party was able to follow the suspect vehicle after the crash and continued to provide information on its whereabouts.

The suspect vehicle was ultimately tracked to the Avon Kroger parking lot, where officers arrived shortly after.

Danville officers, with assistance from the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office, took the suspect into custody at the scene. Although the incident concluded in Avon, the arrest was carried out by Danville officers with support from county deputies.

No information has been released regarding possible injuries, the identity of the suspect, or any potential charges.
