Danville Burglary Call Leads to Foot Chase, Arrest of 37 Year Old Man

Danville, IN — A burglary call in Danville Friday afternoon led to a foot chase and the arrest of a 37 year old man who is now facing multiple charges.

Just after 1:30 p.m. Friday, Danville Police were dispatched to a residence on Sycamore Lane near Ellis Park for a report of a burglary in progress. The caller had arrived home to find the door open and reported hearing noises coming from inside the residence.

When officers arrived, they reported finding broken windows at the home. Officers then reported seeing someone run from the residence, leading to a foot chase toward the park.

A Hendricks County Sheriff's Office K9 was later requested to assist officers.

The suspect was eventually taken into custody and identified as 37 year old Jordan Niell Houk.

Houk was booked into the Hendricks County Jail Friday and is currently being held without bond. He is facing charges of burglary, battery by bodily waste upon a public safety officer, strangulation, residential entry and resisting law enforcement.

Houk also has a prior burglary conviction in Boone County from 2017. After being found guilty in that case, he was sentenced to 5 years and 7 months in the Indiana Department of Correction.

The charges in this case are allegations, and Houk is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
