Multi-Agency Manhunt in Avon After High-Speed Police Chase
Avon, IN — A traffic stop early Saturday morning around 6:30 a.m. escalated into a high-speed chase and a large-scale manhunt involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
The incident began near US-36 and Satori Parkway when a Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office deputy initiated a stop on a driver and observed a firearm in the individual’s lap. The driver then rolled up the window, prompting the deputy to request additional units.
The suspect fled the scene, leading officers on a pursuit that reached speeds exceeding 100 mph. During the chase, officers deployed stop sticks near Dan Jones Road and US-36, which punctured one of the vehicle’s tires. Despite the damage, the suspect continued fleeing for a period of time.
The pursuit came to an end when the suspect exited the vehicle on Production Drive near Harlan Bakeries and fled on foot. Law enforcement agencies, including Avon Police, Danville Police, and the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office, conducted an extensive and coordinated search of the area.
Despite the large-scale manhunt, the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the suspect was not able to be located.
The investigation remains ongoing.
