Crash at US-36 & Raceway Rd Leaves Trail of Damage Into Nearby Lot

Avon, IN — A crash was reported at the intersection of US-36 and Raceway Road at approximately 3:16 p.m. Thursday. Avon Police, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Avon Fire Department, and Wayne Township Fire Department responded to the scene. No official information has been released.

According to observations at the scene, a vehicle traveling southbound on Raceway Road may have struck a vehicle waiting in the left-turn lane for US-36. The vehicle then appeared to continue eastbound on US-36 in the wrong direction for approximately 500 feet before leaving the roadway and striking a parked vehicle and a semi truck in the Five Guys/AT&T parking lot.
