US-36 Westbound in Danville Closed After Hydraulic Fluid Spill

Danville — US-36 westbound in Danville has been shut down after a tractor leaked hydraulic fluid along the roadway, leaving an estimated 1,000-foot trail of oil across the highway.

Cleanup crews are currently on scene working to remove the oil and make the area safe for drivers. Officials have not said how long the closure will last, but drivers should expect delays and avoid the area if possible.

The incident occurred earlier today, and westbound traffic on US-36 is being diverted while crews work to clear the scene.
