AVON  —  A multi-car accident has been reported on westbound US-36 just east of Raceway Road . Emergency crews are currently on the scene, and drivers in the area should expect significant delays. Motorists are advised to use caution and seek alternate routes until the roadway is cleared.

Westside Indianapolis — A police standoff occurred this morning around 10 a.m. near County Side Drive and W. Morris Street. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office was serving a warrant when the suspect initially refused to come out despite officers’ attempts to communicate via loudspeaker. According to neighbors, deputies eventually broke down the door to enter the residence. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported during the operation. Authorities continue to stress the importance of cooperating with law enforcement during warrant executions to ensure public safety.

Danville  —  US-36 westbound in Danville has been shut down after a tractor leaked hydraulic fluid along the roadway, leaving an estimated 1,000-foot trail of oil across the highway. Cleanup crews are currently on scene working to remove the oil and make the area safe for drivers. Officials have not said how long the closure will last, but drivers should expect delays and avoid the area if possible. The incident occurred earlier today, and westbound traffic on US-36 is being diverted while crews work to clear the scene.

AVON, Ind. — Emergency crews are on the scene of a serious multi-vehicle crash involving four to five cars on US-36 (Rockville Road) near Shelton Drive , directly across from the Avon Walmart. According to early reports, multiple ambulances were dispatched to assist those injured in the collision. The exact number of people transported has not yet been confirmed. Police have closed one lane in both directions while emergency responders work to clear the roadway and tend to the victims. Drivers in the area should expect delays and are urged to avoid the area if possible.

WEST INDIANAPOLIS — A large fire broke out around 3 a.m. Friday at The Park at Greenhill Apartments , located near Rockville Road and I-465 . According to witnesses at the scene, some residents were forced to jump from second-story windows to escape the flames. Emergency crews confirmed that while there were no fatalities , four individuals were transported to the hospital with injuries. Firefighters worked through the early morning hours to bring the blaze under control. The cause of the fire has not yet been released. 

Plainfield Ind.  — An industrial fire has been reported at Reeves Rd & Perry Rd involving chemicals.  🚒⚠️ The fire broke out a little after 1am very early Thursday morning.  Plainfield and Avon Fire crews are on scene working to contain the blaze. All employees were evacuated and sent home. No injuries reported.
