  Brownsburg, IN — Emergency crews responded to a serious crash Thursday afternoon after a vehicle went off the I-74 westbound overpass near Raceway Road and landed on the railroad tracks below. The crash occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. Firefighters from the Brownsburg, Avon, and Speedway Fire Departments responded to the scene along with the Indiana State Police. Due to the vehicle's location on the railroad tracks, CSX temporarily halted train traffic while first responders conducted rescue operations and crews worked to safely recover the vehicle. During the evening commute, traffic on I-74 westbound backed up to I-465 as the interstate was reduced to one lane while emergency personnel remained on scene. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing the Indiana State Police take one person into custody.
