The case brought forward a mountain of digital evidence showing a repetitive pattern of behavior. Investigators with the Avon Police Department discovered that Stober was actively using various social media platforms and phone messaging apps to seek out and groom young kids. In some of the instances uncovered by police, he was targeting victims who were only nine years old. For this specific conviction, court records show he used those online apps to set up a meeting with a local girl before bringing her back to his apartment complex over in Avon. Fire Heavily Damages Home in Cedar Mill Neighborhood of Avon

  Avon, IN — A residence fire in the Cedar Mill neighborhood prompted a multi-agency response Tuesday evening on Cedar Mill Drive. The Avon Fire Department and Plainfield Fire Department were dispatched to the scene at approximately 8:25 p.m. Crews with the Avon and Plainfield fire departments arrived and worked to contain the blaze at the home, which sustained major damage. A neighbor posted on social media that all occupants made it out safely, with no injuries and all pets accounted for. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced family with immediate needs following the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Three in Custody After Avon Police Chase Ends Near U.S. 36 Costco

Avon, IN — A police chase came to an end Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. near the Costco gas station along U.S. 36. During the pursuit, the driver and two other occupants bailed out of the vehicle and fled on foot. The driver ran across U.S. 36 before being taken into custody by officers near Andy Mohr Toyota. The two additional occupants were apprehended shortly after at the Costco gas station. Multiple viewers reported that at one point during the chase, the vehicle was traveling the wrong way on U.S. 36. No injuries have been reported at this time, and further details have not yet been released.

Early Morning House Fire Reported on Avon Ave in Plainfield

The fire was reported at 3:18 a.m. at a home located on Avon Ave between Northfield Rd and French St. The Plainfield Fire Department responded to the scene and was assisted by the Avon Fire Department. Firefighters arrived to active fire conditions and immediately began working to bring the blaze under control. Crews remained on scene for an extended period as they extinguished the fire and checked for any remaining hotspots. Plainfield Police shut down Avon Ave in the area to allow emergency personnel to operate safely. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes while crews worked. Knife Attack on Officers, Arson Attempt End With Peaceful Surrender in Avon

 Avon Police have released details surrounding a domestic violence investigation that unfolded earlier this month and ultimately led to an arrest following a peaceful surrender on February 6. Police say officers were initially called to a residence in the Cedar Bend subdivision on February 2 for a reported domestic disturbance. During that incident, a 40-year-old male suspect allegedly barricaded himself inside a bathroom, made violent threats toward responding officers, and was determined to be intentionally starting a fire inside the home. According to police, the suspect resisted arrest and attacked officers with a knife. No officers were injured during the encounter. Officers used less-lethal force to subdue the suspect and prevent further harm. US-136 Closed East of Country Club Road After Hazmat Truck Rollover

US-136 was closed in both directions just east of Country Club Road after a semi truck carrying a gasoline load rolled over. Officials reported that the truck tipped over, causing one of its four fuel compartments to leak , spilling gasoline onto the roadway. In the crash, a utility pole was also damaged, and power lines were dragged down, creating additional hazards for emergency crews. Multiple fire departments responded, along with the Department of Health , to contain the gasoline spill and ensure public safety. Crews worked for several hours to clean up the spill, remove debris, and secure the damaged power lines. The highway remained closed until authorities deemed the roadway safe for travel. No injuries were reported. The cause of the rollover remains under investigation.

Multi-Vehicle Crash in Avon — Individual Taken Into Custody

 A multi-vehicle crash occurred at Ronald Reagan Parkway & 100 S in Avon, Indiana earlier today. Emergency crews responded to the scene, and traffic was impacted while first responders worked to clear the area. Avon Fire Department crews are currently on scene, securing the area and addressing the situation. Authorities are asking people in the immediate vicinity to avoid the area and follow any directions given by emergency personnel. No injuries have been reported at this time, and crews are working to resolve the leak as quickly and safely as possible. Wayne Township & Avon Fire Extract Driver Trapped After Crash

 I was on scene just east of Country Club Road where Wayne Township and Avon Fire crews were responding to a serious two-vehicle crash . One person was trapped and required extrication. Westbound US-36 was completely closed while firefighters and emergency personnel worked to safely free the individual. Traffic in the area was heavily impacted, and drivers were advised to seek alternate routes until the scene was cleared. Emergency responders worked quickly and efficiently, demonstrating the critical importance of professional training and teamwork during high-risk incidents.
