Early Morning House Fire Reported on Avon Ave in Plainfield

PLAINFIELD, Ind. — Fire crews responded to a large residential fire early this morning on Avon Ave in Plainfield.

The fire was reported at 3:18 a.m. at a home located on Avon Ave between Northfield Rd and French St.

The Plainfield Fire Department responded to the scene and was assisted by the Avon Fire Department. Firefighters arrived to active fire conditions and immediately began working to bring the blaze under control. Crews remained on scene for an extended period as they extinguished the fire and checked for any remaining hotspots.

Plainfield Police shut down Avon Ave in the area to allow emergency personnel to operate safely. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes while crews worked.

There has been no official word yet regarding injuries. The cause of the fire has not been released and remains under investigation.
