Former Brownsburg Daycare Worker Sentenced to Jail, Home Detention in Child Abuse Investigation

 BROWNSBURG, IN — A former employee of Main Street University 4 Kidz in Brownsburg was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to neglect of a dependent and failure to report in connection with a child abuse investigation involving the daycare.

Jennyfer Lingbeck was sentenced to 180 days in the Hendricks County Jail, followed by 365 days of home detention and a period of probation. She previously pleaded guilty to Level 6 Felony Neglect of a Dependent and Class B Misdemeanor Failure to Report, leaving her sentence to be determined by the court.

According to court proceedings, Lingbeck argued she had been influenced by the daycare's former owner. The court ultimately found that, as someone entrusted with the care of children, she had an independent responsibility to report suspected abuse and protect those in her care before imposing the sentence.

The case stems from multiple reports made during 2024 and early 2025 involving allegations of inappropriate conduct between a daycare employee and young children. Prosecutors alleged those concerns were handled internally instead of being immediately reported to law enforcement or the Indiana Department of Child Services as required under Indiana law.

Lingbeck is the second former employee connected to the investigation to be sentenced. Former daycare owner Nancy Minton was previously sentenced to three years after pleading guilty to neglect of a dependent and failure to report child abuse. Under her sentence, she is required to serve two years, with the possibility of modifying the second year to home detention after serving one year in prison, followed by one year of probation.

The criminal case against former daycare worker Gabriel Garner remains pending. Garner faces numerous felony charges, including multiple counts of child molesting and child exploitation, along with additional charges filed as part of the ongoing investigation. As with all criminal cases, Garner is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

The investigation remains one of the largest child abuse cases to emerge from Hendricks County in recent years, resulting in criminal charges against multiple former daycare employees and several civil lawsuits filed on behalf of families with children who attended the facility.
