Violent Marion County Felon Booked on Meth Dealing Charges in Hendricks County

PLAINFIELD, IN — A 38-year-old Marion County man with a lengthy history of violent felony offenses is back behind bars in Hendricks County today. The arrest follows an enforcement stop by the Plainfield Police Department.

Christopher E. Patterson was taken into custody and booked into the Hendricks County Jail on multiple high-level felony charges, including dealing methamphetamine. Court and jail booking records confirm that Patterson is currently being held under a strict "no bail" order as he awaits his initial hearing.

Patterson's extensive interactions with the Indiana criminal justice system span nearly two decades, characterized by heavy sentences for violent crimes followed by early state prison releases.

According to official Indiana Department of Corrections (IDOC) tracking profiles, Patterson was originally convicted in Marion County in 2008 for a count of Class A Felony Robbery resulting in serious bodily injury. A judge handed him a 30-year prison sentence for the violent act. Under the state's historical sentencing credit guidelines, Patterson served 14 years of that term before being released early from state custody in 2022.

Patterson’s period of freedom outside of a secure facility was short-lived. Following his 2022 release, a new felony battery charge landed him right back in front of a Marion County judge. The active case triggered an administrative intervention regarding his original 30-year sentence. In January 2024, he was sent back to prison to serve an additional 5 years and 11 months on that same robbery case.

Patterson spent just over two years serving out that backup time before being released early from state custody once again, getting out on April 30 of this year.

Fewer than two months after his release, local law enforcement reports show Patterson came across the county line into Hendricks County. Plainfield Police Department officers intercepted Patterson, executing an arrest that successfully removed him from the community before any further escalation could occur.

Thanks to the quick action and vigilance of the Plainfield Police Department, this individual is back behind bars.
