Danville Police Merit Board Vice President Arrested After Crash

Danville, IN — A Danville Police Department Merit Board official has been arrested following a Friday afternoon crash in town.

Authorities say the crash occurred around 5:18 p.m. near East Main Street and Stratford Avenue and involved two vehicles. The incident was first reported on our scanner page, Hendricks County Scanner Alerts, around 6:00 p.m., prompting attention to the scene.

Due to the involvement of a member of the Danville Police Department’s Merit Board, the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department conducted the investigation.

Dennis Wynn, 55, who serves as vice president of the Merit Board, was taken into custody and booked into the Hendricks County Jail.

He is facing preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, as well as operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of .15 or higher.

The case remains under investigation, and all charges are preliminary at this time.
