Avon Police Pursuit Ends in Crash at 10th St & Belmont Ave in Indianapolis
AVON, IN — An Avon Police pursuit that began around 6:30 p.m. Sunday in Avon ended in Indianapolis after the suspect crashed near 10th Street and Belmont Avenue. The pursuit began near the intersection of Glenbrooke Lane and U.S. 36 after an Avon Police officer attempted to stop a white Dodge Charger for speeding. Instead of stopping, the driver fled, leading officers into Marion County. During the pursuit, the suspect reached speeds of up to 95 mph before the chase came to an end with a crash near 10th Street and Belmont Avenue in Indianapolis. The suspect was taken into custody following the crash and transported to Eskenazi Hospital. The initial reason for the traffic stop was reported to be speeding.
