  Hendricks County, IN — A 55 year old man wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service in connection with an escape case has been arrested in Hendricks County. Max Austin was booked by the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office and is currently being held in the Hendricks County Jail on a U.S. Marshal hold . Austin had been wanted in connection with an escape case out of Clarksburg, West Virginia , since October 15, 2024 . He was last seen in Saginaw, Michigan , according to information released by the U.S. Marshals Service. Following his arrest in Hendricks County, Austin was booked on eight felony charges , including unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and possession of methamphetamine. Other charges include theft, unlawful carrying of a handgun, identity deception and additional drug related offenses. Austin remains in the Hendricks County Jail while being held for the U.S. Marshals Service.

 Avon, IN — The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect involved in Saturday night’s reported hit and run crash in Avon as 24-year-old Mahena Chevez. The incident happened around 10:15 p.m. near County Road 100 South and Sun Ridge Blvd Saturday night. Following the crash, deputies and Avon Police searched the nearby Sunchase neighborhood after the suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot. The crash reportedly left another driver with a reported head injury, prompting Avon Fire Department crews to respond and provide medical assistance at the scene. According to jail records, Chevez was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, disorderly conduct, and leaving the scene of an accident. Records also show she posted a $300 cash bond the following day and was released.
