Parents Charged Following Death Investigation of 11-Year-Old in Stilesville

 STILESVILLE, Ind. — Two parents have been charged in connection with the death of an 11-year-old girl earlier today in Stilesville, according to court records and law enforcement officials.

Kenneth Vasquez and Elba Vasquez have each been charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in death following the investigation into the incident in the 6000 block of West U.S. 40.

Emergency crews were originally dispatched to the home at approximately 1:30 a.m., where responders found the child unresponsive. Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Following the investigation, authorities determined the circumstances warranted criminal charges. Both individuals are now facing felony counts related to the case.

Officials have not released additional details about the specific circumstances that led to the charges. The case remains ongoing as it moves through the court process.
