Brownsburg Police Address Public Concerns Over Flock Camera System
Brownsburg, IN — Questions about Brownsburg's use of Flock license plate reader cameras took center stage during the Town Council's most recent meeting as officials responded to concerns from a resident regarding privacy, surveillance, and how the camera system is funded. The discussion began during public comment when a resident asked town officials to explain the purpose of the cameras and how they are paid for. The resident said concerns over surveillance and data collection prompted them to research the technology after noticing cameras installed throughout Brownsburg. In response, Brownsburg Police Chief Joe Grimes said the department currently operates 16 Flock license plate reader cameras located along major roadways throughout town.
